As we approach the start of Advent, a time of preparation leading to Christmas, Vinnies begins its annual Christmas Appeal, seeking donations to help support people during the festive season. It is estimated that there are over 750,000 children across Australia living in poverty with many families and individuals feeling socially isolated. On the central coast alone the number of homeless people has doubled since 2024. We kindly ask families to contribute Christmas and pantry items to our drive this year, to be used to create hampers for individuals and families who are struggling during the festive season. Please give generously if you can, donations are due in at school by Tuesday 9 December.
This Friday, 5th December, children are invited to wear Christmas accessories with their uniform as a reminder to bring in donations for the Christmas Appeal. It is NOT a coin donation event; it is a reminder to send in donations.
