Assessment and Reporting

Assessment is the process of collecting information about student achievement and performance, determining its significance and making decisions about subsequent learning. In order to improve student outcomes it is essential that assessment is consistently integrated into the teaching and learning processes, with children given feedback about their learning.

Reporting to parents aims to provide clear communication of student achievement in relation to syllabus outcomes, encourage co-operation and communication between parents, teachers and students and provide direction for future teaching and learning.  Reporting should be clear, realistic, relevant and meaningful to the child, parent and teacher.

Grade Information evenings are held first thing each year for parents to learn what the year ahead entails. Formal interview times are at the end of Term 1 and reports are sent home at the end of Terms 2 & 4 with parents being encouraged to make an appointment with the class teacher as required.
