Key Learning Areas

As a learning community, the staff  have been able to identify and articulate our shared beliefs about teaching and learning and the importance of providing rich and engaging learning experiences for all students. This approach to teaching and learning is grounded in the understanding that all students’ learning needs are important and we strive to meet each student at their point of need.

To this end, staff are committed to identifying individual student needs through a wide range of assessment practices and are able to make informed judgements about future learning pathways.

Curriculum

We follow the NSW Board of Studies Curriculum in the Key Learning Areas and the Diocese of Broken Bay Curriculum (K-12) for Religious Education.

The stages of development are as follows:

Early Stage 1 (Kindergarten)
Stage 1          (Years 1 and 2)
Stage 2          (Years 3 and 4)
Stage 3          (Years 5 and 6)

Grade Information evenings are held first thing each year for parents to learn what the year ahead entails. Formal interview times are at the end of Term 1 and reports are sent home at the end of Terms 2 & 4 with parents being encouraged to make an appointment with the class teacher as required.
