The Mathematics Assessment Interview is an individual assessment to determine a student’s existing mathematical knowledge in number skills. The assessment takes approximately 30 minutes for each student and is conducted one-on-one with classroom teachers.
What is a Best Start Assessment?
The Best Start Assessment identifies a student’s literacy and numeracy skills on entry to Kindergarten. It has been conducted in all NSW schools since 2010. The assessment is mapped to the National Literacy and Numeracy Learning Progressions, taking around 40 minutes for each student and is conducted one-on-one with Kindergarten teachers.
How do I book a time slot for my child’s MAI assessment or Best Start Kindergarten interview?
Parents and carers will be notified directly via Email/Compass App when the online appointments open, so that bookings can be made for the one-to-one assessment with their class teacher.
